While pursuing a Master’s in Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University, Vanessa Nkansah-Okoree collaborated with the Canadian Caribbean Association of Waterloo Region (CCAWR) for this year's Black History Month Launch and 50th Anniversary. Her artwork, highlighting unity within the Black community, was featured on a Kitchener-Waterloo Regional transit bus unveiled at the CCAWR launch event on February 2, 2025. Vanessa is a digital artist specializing in abstract realism and manga-inspired artwork that celebrates diversity. This initiative, organized in partnership with the Region of Waterloo, showcased the region’s rich Caribbean culture and commitment to Caribbean representation. Through her art, Vanessa continues to promote diversity, inclusion, and community empowerment.
